What is AEP?
The Arts Education Program is an initiative from the National Arts Council (NAC) which aims to provide students across Singapore with access to enriching arts education experiences. Here at SLO, our AEP offerings include diverse operatic musical programmes tailored towards the development needs of young audiences.  
 
Who Is It For?
The recommended age ranges from 6 to 13. Benefits for young audiences include:

• Cognitive Development: Through a combination of diverse fiction and audience engagement, the stories stimulate imaginative and critical thinking. 

• Emotional Development: Fictional narratives provide a safe, constructive arena for students to explore emotions such as fear, grief, and courage in the face of obstacles. These programmes can help young audiences process and understand complicated emotions.

• Social Development: The stories encourage empathy towards a varied cast of characters with unique perspectives, fostering social awareness and emotional intelligence.

• Aesthetic Appreciation: The combination of music, storytelling, and themes of cultural heritage can promote awareness of symphonic music and local art among children.
