SLO Adult Chorus
The Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) Adult Chorus has stood as a cornerstone of the company’s theatrical endeavours since the Opera’s inception in 1990. Inaugurated in 1991 with a production of Die Zauberflöte, the Chorus has been a dynamic presence for the past three decades, lending its harmonious voice to the company's productions, concerts, and outreach initiatives.
 
Brought together by a passion for music, our devoted chorus members wholeheartedly embrace their roles, committing to understudy and perform with unwavering passion. Under the expert guidance of our esteemed Chorus Master, Terrence Toh, the Chorus staged their inaugural Chorus Concert in 2018. This marked the culmination of years of dedication as the choir presented operatic masterpieces by luminaries such as Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, and more.

Adult Chorus
Adult chorus candidates will have to prepare two songs that will best show the quality of your singing, one of which should be an opera aria. Art songs and show tunes can also be used for the audition. As you will mostly be performing the classical repertoire, please do not use the following types of music for your audition:
 
  • Popular music
  • Jazz standards
  • Church hymns and carols
 
You do not have to memorise your pieces, though it will be advantageous if you can, as most performances will require memorisation. Please bring extra copies of your pieces for the auditioning panel. Please note that SLO does not provide an accompanist for auditions, and you will need to make your own arrangements if you require one.
